“Allahumma hazihi aqiqa-tubniyya (name of the boy here) damuha bidamihi wa’muha bilaahmihi, wa-shahamuha bishaamihi wa-azmuha bi-azamihi wa-jilduha bijildihi wa-sha’ruha bisha’rihi Allahumma laj’alaha fida’a wa liibni minan-naari wa taka-bbalaha minan kama takabbaltaha minan Nabiyyika-lamustafa wa-habibika Ahmad lamujtaba sallallahu ta’ala alehi wasallam inna salaati wa-nusooqi wa mahayya wa mamaati-lilahi rabbi-l-alaamina o la-sharikah lahu bizalika umirtu wa ana awwalu-l-muslimeen o Bismillahi Allahu Akbar

Note- When you recite this dua from start to end and reach Bismillah Allahu Akbar, then perform the sacrifice at that very moment and after the sacrifice use the razor on the child’s head.

Praise of Aqiqah:

The animal which is sacrificed in gratitude for the birth of a child is called Aqiqah.

When should Aqiqah be performed?

Masala: Aqiqah is preferred and the seventh day is better for it. If it is not possible to do it on the seventh day, then whenever it is available, it will be considered Sunnah.

Masala: Two goats should be sacrificed for a boy and one goat for a girl, i.e., a male animal is appropriate for a boy and a female animal for a girl. There is no harm in the other animal. In fact, if two animals are not available, there is no harm in just one goat for the boy.

Masala: If a cow or a buffalo is sacrificed, two parts for the boy and one part for the girl are sufficient.

Masala: Aqiqah can be a part of the sacrifice. The conditions for the Aqiqah animal are the same as for the sacrificed animal.

What should be done with the meat of Aqiqah?

Masala: The meat of Aqiqah should be distributed raw or cooked to the poor, near and dear ones and friends or given as a snack or feast. All the situations are permissible.

Masala: It is better not to break the bones for the sake of good deeds and it is also not permissible not to break them. You can cook the meat in any way you want but cooking it sweetly is the fruit of good morals of the child.

Masala: The meat of Aqiqah can be eaten by parents, grandparents etc.

Masala: The order for the skin of Aqiqah is the same as that for the skin of Qurbani, whether to use it for your own use or give it to the poor or to do some other good deed in the mosque or madrasa.

Masala: This dua is recited while slaughtering the animal of Aqiqah.

Aqiqah’s Dua:

Allahum ma hajihi aki katu ibni falan (instead of Ibni falan, take the name of your son if you sacrifice yourself and if someone else does it, take the name of the son and the son’s father)

Da muha bi damihi wa lahmuha bilhamihi wa azmuha biajramihi wa jilduha bijlidihi wa sh ruha bi shanjihi Allahum maj al ha fida al ibni minnaari bismillahhi Allahu Akbar If it is a girl, then recite the same Dua:

Allahum ma hajihi aki katu binti fula na tan da muha bi damiha wa lahmiha bilhamiha wa azmuha biajnammiha wa jilduha bijdiha wa shaha bishanhi Allahum maj alha fida a libinti. (If it is yours or someone else’s, then say Binte Falah) Minnaari (If you do not remember this prayer, then without reciting the prayer, just say Bismillahi Allahu Akbar and sacrifice the animal and Aqiqah will be done. Fakt Wallahu Ta’ala alamu wa ilmuhu aha kamu wa a tamu wa sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
